alisch berlec hönow is an interdisciplinary design studio with a content-driven and conceptual approach, developing unique, meaningful, and long-lasting visual communication that captivates the senses and evokes a deep emotional resonance.
With a background firmly rooted in graphic design and its intellectual and creative methodologies, and a limitless curiosity for emerging technologies, we operate at the intersection of tradition and modernity, constantly expanding our horizons to explore progressive visual languages and pioneering production techniques.
We uncover and articulate underlying contexts, aspirations, and values while critically engaging with both theoretical and practical challenges in each project, always questioning aesthetic perceptions and functional conventions. This dynamic dialogue allows us to move beyond superficial visuals, creating unique narratives and deeper meanings that transcend any aesthetic, medium, or space.
We develop bespoke visual identities, websites, publications, and immersive experiences in both physical and digital spaces for individuals, institutions, and businesses of all sizes and budgets, across the fields of art, culture, design, and commerce.
Alongside our practical work, we are deeply committed to share our knowledge and experience by teaching classes, giving lectures, and conducting workshops on typography, book and screen design, and time-based media at various institutions and universities.
As passionate and inquisitive designers, we are thrilled to dive into new challenges with like-minded people who embrace the transformative potential of design and an open and appreciative collaboration.
Through trusting and long-term partnerships with our clients, we have developed numerous projects that have been honored with national and international awards, e.g., from the German Design Council, Type Directors Club New York, Schönste Deutsche Bücher, or 100 Beste Plakate D/A/CH, and have been shown in various museums, exhibitions, and publications such as the Kulturforum Potsdamer Platz, Museum für angewandte Kunst Wien, ginza graphic gallery Tokyo, or The Paper Gallery Seoul.
